Many people say that a real teacher should be patient and love their job. These things are, of course, important, but what really matters is that a teacher knows how to listen, is curious about the world and enjoys constantly learning new things. We meet different people all the time, experience many cultures and never stop learning about our students and about the world. Combined with solid knowledge of our subject and an ability to simplify complex concepts, this curiosity allows us to deliver engaging and productive lessons and help our students achieve their learning goals.

I used to teach English in China while studying at university, and went on to teach full-time after graduating. I have been an English language trainer for over 20 years now. My experience includes individual and group lessons (with classes up to 40 pupils in China); it varies from primary through high school to university, and also private schools for adult learners. I have taught Business English, General English and English for specific purposes. In the past 7 years I have concentrated mostly on teaching online because that allows me to use unlimited resources off the Internet in my classes, for example audio and video with authentic speech, presentations which I have prepared in advance and can share online, etc. I also have a successful track record in exam preparation (GBC, CAE, IELTS, PET) and am a mYngle certified blended learning trainer.
