I have 10+ years teaching experience. I have taught both in a classroom setting and online. I have taught students from all over the world including: Korea, Japan, Russian, Ukraine, Italy, Israel, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peurto Rico, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Moldova, and more. I have taught grammar, reading, writing, listening/speaking classes to all levels of language learners. I have been a personal tutor and helped students with accent reduction. I became interested in second language acquisition at the young age of 10 when my parents adopted 3 children from South Korea. I lived in a community in the state of Minnesota that welcomed many refugees from Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, so I started tutoring my peers at school at the age of 12. As a university student I privately tutored Korean students, and travelled to South Korea when I was 19 to teach English for the summer. The next year I was studying Russian in order to serve a mission for my church in Ukraine, where I weekly taught free English classes. Upon graduating university with a BA in Linguistics and a minor in TESOL and Russian, I worked for a few years at a few different language schools teaching the 4 basics of reading, writing, grammar, and listening/speaking in classroom settings. Later I volunteered teachin English to Russian and Croation immigrants. For this past year I have been teaching English online as a tutor, and have enjoyed seeing the progress of individual students as I tailor lessons to their needs and goals, whether it be improving grammar usage, expanding vocabulary, or accent reduction. I am a mYngle certified Blended Learning trainer.
