Because of the lapse in time between when you last had English classes is a year, among some of the things we need to work on are complex verb tenses, dialogue, and conversation. Thanks for your contributions in our last lesson and for your effort throughout the course Alberto, it was a pleasure having lessons with you. You showed a lot of interest in improving your English as well as a desire to learn more about daily life in the UK. In this lesson we listened to people discussing different aspects of company performance and identified some of the adjectives they used. You also spoke clearly about the recent performances of your favourite football team. We went on to practice the present perfect with 'for' and 'since', noting how it differs from the past simple in use and form. You displayed a strong understanding of the grammar and provided some suitable example sentences, well done.

Nice work today Alberto, you showed a lot of patience and determination in today's lesson. We began by discussing how performance is measured in various fields before you gave an informative account of how your own performance is measured at work. We also evaluated the importance of different factors when measuring the performance of a company, before reading an article about how many companies are aiming to become more socially and environmentally responsible. You clearly expressed your opinion of the information in the text and had no problems using the vocabulary in a different context, well done!

Thanks for your time in our last lesson Alberto, it was good to talk to you again. I was interested to learn about your planned trip to Scotland next year and happy to offer you some recommendations. Well done in our lesson today Alberto, you showed a lot of interest and enthusiasm. We began by reviewing modal verbs for permission and obligation; you were able to speak confidently about some rules and regulations regarding advertising in Italy. After that, we looked at useful language for interrupting and avoiding interruptions in a discussion, before finally considering how to maintain control over a meeting you are hosting. Your listening comprehension was strong and you also managed to identify some connections between the target language, good work. Have a nice evening and I'll see you next time!
