We did five noun gerunds at Google Doc and then talked about her research in Messina on lipids in the mitochondia of diabetic rats.

We studied the first page of the Noun Gerunds doc and agreed that she will do five per session before class in Google Doc. We talked about soccer balls today using a NY Times graphic. Sent NY Times on Brazilian inmates who make soccer balls as occupational therapy for next class.

Chiara practiced her presentation on methods of measuring flavenoids in fruit juices for a symposium she will attend with other specialists.

We talked about a presentation that she is going to give in a symposium, then practiced it. She will get a new computer tomorrow and hopefully we can do application share with Skype on it.

We worked on an exercise about the three conditionals (1,2, and 3) which Chiara manages well except for confusion with number 3. We will do one more exercise with all three, then focus on 3 by itself.

We talked about Chiara’s family, her daily duties at work, what she likes to do for fun, and vacations.

We had a "getting to know you" conversation in which Chiara told me about hear English learning background and current language needs as a chemistry professor in Rome. She attends conferences which are mainly in English about her field, food chemistry.
