We read an interesting passage about the Grand Canyon and referring to the passage , we also did some grammar revision exercises on the latest structures we had studied ... all in English , of course !

We studied a chart which explained the Passive form applied to all the most common English tenses , then read a short article about the making of perfumes , completed and briefly discussed it

We finished our work on families , listening to an audio file and talking about members' traits , then, after a short grammar explanation , we started working on the Passive form

Today we had an excellent Internet connection and everything went on well until the student's microphone fell and broke ... (oops !) but we managed to finish our revision exercise on adverbs by typing in the answers ... technology hitches...

We went on working on yesterday's passage, focusing on some of the structures used such as "less"/ few "and conjunctions ... we'll continue tomorrow !!

Today the internet connection was very bad and we had several interruptions during the lesson , but we managed to read a comprehension passage about a comparison between family life at the beginning of the century and modern times - Livia is making very good progress in her speaking skills

The classroom didn't open at the time of the lesson as it didn't connect to the server so we had to have or lesson in Skype - we continued our work introducing 2 other different ways to use "used to " in English .

Unfortunately I had a serious problem with my computer so I had to improvise a lesson on another one ! We chatted about Livia's past habits as a middle school student , then we talked about her present interests and her life in Rome , comparing it to another important Italian city : Milan ...

At the beginning of the lesson we commented the song "Redwood Tree" by Van Morrison , trying to understand the meaning of the lyrics , then , starting from this topic, we passes over to the "used to " structure and its use .

Using some given prompts , Livia had to invent some sentences using adjectives or adverbs - after this exercise , we listened to an audio file about California , commented it and did an online comprehension exercise .
