Hello! Hola!
I am originally from El Salvador and live in Toronto, Canada.
My native language is Spanish and I also speak fluent English.
Even though my profession is related with the Information Technology field, I have always enjoyed teaching others, especially English. In fact, during my University years back in the early nineties, I taught English as a Foreign Language at various prestigious schools in El Salvador. I did this as a full time job from 1990 until 1994 -I can provide proof of this, if required, and I have also taught as a freelancer over the years.
I have always liked teaching, in fact, that is the reason why I am here. I really like to help others and teaching the languages I know is a way to do it. Myngle through the Internet, allows me to try to go back to this exciting field, perhaps not in the traditional face-to-face fashion that I used to teach, but still exciting, nonetheless rewarding.
My approach has been communication. Talk, talk and talk. That is the key of learning a new language. Of course, the written aspect is key, however and at least at the beginning levels, I do not overly stress the 'correctness' of the language rather than feeling comfortable in learning how to communicate. During the course of my training and as we go by, we will learn grammar structure, vocabulary as well as most important and common phrases for every day use.
I can say that I do not follow a specific teaching methodology. I basically adapt to the specific situation in order to best suit my student's needs.
