I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Arts degree in German, and Master of Science degree from Florida State University in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language. I have taught English for 17 years. I have taught Business English at Florida International University. I have also taught aviation English to pilots and air traffic controllers at Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways, Iraqi Airways, Pan Am International Flight Academy, and Miami Dade College's School of Aviation. I teach General English, English for Academics, or English for a Specific Job/Purpose. I like to teach English to students of all proficiency levels in a communicative and interactive way. It's the most effective way. The focus is on speaking in a comfortable, non-threatening environment using the words you know and building vocabulary and grammar. I have taught English to more than 6,000 students over the past 17 years.
Personal Information
I live on Miami Beach, Florida. In my pastime, I like visiting friends, dining out, walking on the beach, learning new computer applications that make my life easier, kayaking, and hot-air ballooning. I also enjoy traveling. I have traveled to 42 countries in every part of the world. I teach English for Specific Purposes. I teach English for Business, Aviation, and to adults for Academics. I have a Master of Science degree in TEFL, a Bachelor of Arts in German, and a Bachelor Science in Marketing/Business Administration. I also have 17 years of teaching experience. I have hundreds of hours tutoring business professionals and students in English for specific needs--some one hour for grammar, some 100 hours for speaking. Most of important of all, I love to teach English and to see students become totally independent speakers of English! I hope I have the opportunity to work with you.
