Professional Experience
B.A. in German & Philosophy from a prestigious US University. Masters student in Philosophy at the University of St Andrews, Scotland; entering University of Oxford in the Fall.

For the past 9 years I have tutored English learners from around the world. Currently, I teach English (my native tongue) and German, a language I love for its philosophy and literature.~~~ As a Master English Tutor at my University, I tutored students 1-on-1: from brainstorming for short essays to editing honors theses, I helped college students with English, as she is read and written. ~~~ Having lived in half a dozen countries and formally studied three foreign languages, I truly appreciate the power of language. These experiences have also led me to value conversational language learning. Just as learning is stronger than memorizing, I believe that communication is stronger than grammar. I would therefore characterize my philosophy of language learning as a Suzuki-style process, with the student practicing, being exposed to, and becoming comfortable with the spoken language before turning to the rules of the written language. ~~~ Contact me for my Editing & Translation Rates or any other special requests! ~~~
Personal Information
Originally from the USA, I am a native English speaker with a neutral accent. I love languages and travel, enjoy various cuisines and arts, and could spend all day in a café, talking to friends. Before becoming a teacher on myngle, I was in Germany on a Research Fulbright Fellowship. Now am a postgraduate student in Philosophy. For the past 9 years I have been tutoring English Language Learners across the globe, including as Master English Tutor at my University. I look forward to many more years of helping students of one of the world's most poetic--and useful--languages: English!
