About Me
Although I am a PhD mathematics student I have a wide experience in teaching not only mathematics or science but also languages such as Spanish, Catalan and French. I am a Catalan Spanish from Barcelona who was put to school at the Lycée Français de Barcelone from age 4 to age 18. I therefore have a native knowledge of French, Spanish and Catalan and a very sound knowledge of the english language which allows me to teach correctly those three languages to spanish, french and english speaking students. I have as well a basic knowledge of German and a quite nice classical culture (Latin) which makes me quite reliable when engaged into simple illustrative comparative philology explanations (for western Indoeuropean languages at least). I think that the upbringing my parents provided me with plus my own curiosity have endowed me with a vast general culture and a taste for new cultural and intellectual experiences. But I'm not a nerd! I enjoy cracking jokes, Star Wars, cinema, classical music, mathematics (perhaps a bit of a nerd, after all), hanging around, art, reading the newspapers (well, I don't exacctly enjoy it, but I do read them daily on the internet)...Teaching Experience

I have taught mathematics at the faculty of Barcelona, but also to undergraduate students and children. I have also given language classes to non native speakers of diverse nationalities and ages for more then seven years to support myself through college. My method in teaching is apparently playful but thoroughly serious and focuses on the not always evident links between intuition and logics and on what are the reasons that make an intuition wrong, be they grammar rules or sheer arbitrary conventions (which aren't always that arbirary). It sounds dry, perhaps, but I can tell that my students have never had a boring lesson with me and that they have learnt often more than they had expected (so they say). So then, give it a try and take a lesson, you won't be disappointed.
