I initially entered into the world of teaching English as a foreign language so as I could extend a European holiday into a European life! Prior to returning to Europe in 2002 I participated in - and found a hidden passion for - the world of TESOL. Not long after receiving my certificate in TESOL I was offered a post in a small town in Poland where I lived, taught and learned daily for 2 years. This teaching ranged from 5 year old to beginner adults, the Polish army and companies. Teenagers - both proficient and beginner - and preparing students for a range of internationally recognized certificates. I then became eager to broaden my knowledge beyond the classroom and became a part of a Theatre in Education (T.I.E) program in Italy - conducting small plays in English for school children and then facilitating workshops after. This frivolity lead me back to Australia to commence a bachelor in Education. Whilst studying I assisted with a tutoring program for recent refugees into Australia. This program greatly helped those often thrust into a life they knew nothing about. It ranged from assisting the children with school work; to the parents with day to day living experiences. I am now back in Europe and continuing on the TESOL journey. I am currently tutoring children in conversational English and developing a T.I.E. program to introduce into Poland by 2010! I have a GREAT passion for the field of language acquisition and teaching and I am enthusiastic that there is now another way - online - to take part in this ever growing area.
