17 years of teaching experience; 8 years online --- In 1994, Frauke began giving private English tuition to younger pupils and continued doing so until she left Germany for the UK in 1999. Frauke then lived in York, England, where she worked as a Viking and archaeologist for the York Archaeological Trust teaching children and adults of all ages about the social, cultural and historical development of the City of York and giving private German tuition to adults as well as children. When Frauke moved to Northern Ireland in 2000, she was asked to teach German to students as a means of supporting them throughout their process of acquiring their university qualifications. This involved teaching online as well as giving one-to-one tuition. Since 2007, Frauke has predominantly taught English and German online through an educational website. All lessons and materials are designed by Frauke in consultation with students. It is important to her that language instructions meet the needs and wants of her students. Only then, students are able to achieve what they strive for. Frauke provides all materials to the students by email, so they can concentrate on the learning aspect during the lesson and keep strengthening their newly acquired knowledge and skills once the session has finished.
Personal Information
Frauke is an English and German online language instructor. Over the years, she has been teaching a diversity of students through conference centres, chat rooms – both for individual and group sessions – and 1:1 video call conferences. At present, she is involved with an English e-learning platform, creating curriculum specific course material for online and distance learning, including the production of short films in form of subtitled clips. Furthermore, she is a professional linguist and editor native to the German and English language. She holds a BA Hons in European Studies and Economics, an MA in Applied Linguistics and Education and a postgraduate TEFL certificate. As a linguist she has been working in many different fields and has acquired excellent language skills suitable to apply to a wide range of subjects within the scope of English as well as German language teaching.
