About Me

Hi, Thank you for registering as a student with Myngle. My name is Hubert. I am from Australia and would be more than happy to be your teacher. I have two postgraduate degrees in the field – one being a Graduate Diploma and the other a Master of Education. I am charging $9US per hour, which is a very cheap price. Many people who are as highly qualified as I am in the field would charge you at least twice as much for the lessons. I also have some experience in the planning and delivery of English as a second language (“ESL”) lessons and courses and love teaching ESL. My postgraduate degrees have given me a solid foundation for the teaching of the language. So you would be getting very good value for your money if you were to choose me to be your teacher. Teaching Experience

Professional teaching degrees:

I have a Graduate Diploma in the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages ("TESOL") and a Master of Education (TESOL).

I have been the tutor for two topics taught by the Workers' Educational Association of South Australia. One is called Everyday Reading and Writing and the other one Practise Speaking English. The Everyday Reading and Writing one is aimed at native and non native speakers of English. Punctuation, grammar and spelling are covered. This leads to the writing of well-structured sentences and paragraphs. The Practise Speaking English one is for non native speakers of the language who are at an intermediate level. It focuses on conversational English for speakers and aims to improve speaking and listening skills. The students have been taught Australian colloquialisms and general knowledge. The course focuses on everyday conversations needed when shopping, making appointments or at a restaurant. They have learnt formal and casual language, and "safe conversation" for social gatherings. The course is about building confidence. I have also done a fair bit of voluntary teaching. This was done both through some ESL conversation classes that occur at a local church and through some general ESL classes that take place here in the city of Adelaide, Australia. Also by paying such a low price for tuition by someone who is as highly qualified as I am, you are getting very good value for your money. Many people who have the same qualifications as I do, would charge twice as much as I am.
