It was great to speak with you again today, Kaja. We continued our work on Reading skills. Identifying the topic sentence of a paragraph is a useful skill because 1. it tells you what the paragraph is about and 2. you can use it to formulate questions that you want answered in the remained of the paragraph. This results in better understanding of the text. You need to read a lot now in order to get the hang of this. I look forward to our next meeting. All the best, Stephen.

Hello Kaja. We got to page 11 of my Academic reading module. We looked at how to identify a topic sentence, definition of the topic, and clues to the organisation of a text using the introductory paragraph alone. If you read enough, this should become second nature and greatly improve your ability to understand reading passages. All the best, Stephen.
