Practice your conversational English skills with a native American English speaker! This course was designed for future international students and visiting scholars to the USA. Students can prepare their own topic of conversation, and I will provide my own as well. We can discuss anything within or outside American culture. New vocabulary, including American slang and idioms will be included in each lesson.

In this lesson, we will work on how to present yourself, speak with good pronunciation and potential small talk you may encounter. In this lesson, let's talk about the US's federal holidays (we don't have national holidays), other observed holidays, and what Americans do to celebrate these special, or not-so-special days. While some holidays are bearly noticed, others are commericial nightmares. We can compare and contrast holiday observations between your country and my country, and between our countries and other holidays celebrated around the world.   less
