Although online education has been booming over the last years there are still a lot of people who still have doubts. Those people still buy in to the so-called “E-learing myths”. Browsing on the internet I found this post of Jamie Littlefield of about.com. She has put together the top 5 myths considering online learning

Myth #1 – E-learning websites aren’t as good as traditional schools
Online platforms can offer as good an education as any traditional school. You just have to choose the right online program. Many quality programs allow students to interact with expert teachers and learn through multimedia software. Distance learning can help students develop skills, build a portfolio, and advance in their careers.

Myth #2 - Employers won’t accept degrees from online learning institutes
While this may be true of “diploma mills” and other fake schools, degrees from properly accredited schools are accepted by employers in the same way that traditional degrees are accepted. In fact, there is usually nothing on a diploma to indicate that courses were taken online.

Myth #3 - Distance learning credits don’t transfer to other colleges
Diplomas and credits from online schools that are accredited by the proper regional agency will be accepted by traditional institutions in the same way that diplomas and credits from “regular” colleges are accepted.

Myth #4 - Accredited schools always offer a good education
Anyone can claim to be an accrediting agency, and many do. However, in order to be widely accepted, your degree needs to come from a school approved by one of the six nationally recognized regional accrediting agencies. Be aware that many “diploma mill” schools make up their own accrediting agencies in order to trick students into feeling secure. Checking with one of the big six agencies directly can help you avoid being scammed

Myth #5 - Online schools are faster and easier than traditional schools
While some online students choose accelerated programs, others select online schools that let them do their work slowly, over a longer period of time. Just like traditional schools, some online institutions are known for being easier and others are known for being harder. Flexibility is the key in the world of distance learning and the majority of online programs tailor their curriculum to fit the needs of specific students.

All right, so now you know the Myths be sure not to believe them in the future!

Myths regarding E-learning are products of DISSATISFACTION. They may also have been scooped from traditional minds and naivete…..or maybe due to competition. These are facts for sure and unavoidable.

Dissatisfaction?….sad to say that thousands of students go to language websites that offer lessons for free, but what do they get?….don’t guess because we all know. It’s a matter of choosing the right site that matches their learning desire.

We are living in a world of sophisticated, complex technology but again millions are unfortunate to have the proper access to it; as a result their experiences toward E-learning are thwarted. Therefore, they can’t have 100% comparison between E-learning and the traditional one.

If only, they come to know mYngle, then these myths will no longer be myths. THEY WILL SEE THE BIG DIFFERENCE…..THE REAL WORLD OF E-LEARNING.
