Waiting list for teachers
![]()
Myngle works hard to improve the learning and teaching experience every day, that’s why we have introduced a waiting list for new teachers. Let me explain how it works:
The waiting list is the list of teachers who signed up on Myngle but who are not active on the website. It is based on the demand of teachers per language.
Teachers who sign up on Myngle can start teaching only after they have passed their “consultation” and after they got through the waiting list. By having the consultation, Myngle checks if the new teachers are serious and have teaching experience, and we give tips and tricks to use Myngle the best possible way. This is done to ensure the quality of our offer.
With the waiting list Myngle wants to guarantee enough students per teacher to make it worthwhile teaching on Myngle. To guarantee enough students Myngle lets the amount of teachers grow in parallel to the growth of the students registered. The criteria to be listed in the waiting list are:
- The language taught
- The other languages spoken by the teacher
Students who want to learn a language from a beginner level may need a teacher who speaks (and probably teaches) their language fluently. That’s why we could have an opening for English teachers speaking Dutch, for example, but not accept any English teachers speaking French.
How does it work?
· When there is a new opening (depending on the growth of students and current teacher activity), Myngle will inform the teacher on the waiting list and give all the assistance needed to start teaching their first lesson. He/she will be required to send the CV to our consultants and will be contacted to shedule the consultation.
· Do you want to teach an extra language? There is no need for a new consultation. Just verify with Myngle and we will put you on the waiting list for the new language.
· Myngle wants to support new teachers. Once you are admitted as a new teacher, Myngle will make sure you receive enough exposure to get a good start. We will list you as a new teacher in a separate space on the webiste, called “Newly consulted teachers”. This way, students won’t mistake you for an unpopular teacher who didn’t teach any classes. New students registering on Myngle will also receive a personal suggestion of two teachers, one experienced and a newly consulted one.
Hopefully this blog post answers some questions and offers more clarity to our future teachers. We wish all of you a successful and fun experience on Myngle!
Elisa

I find this very interesting and useful. How can I enter myself into the list?

Dear Sir or Madam;
I am writing to inform you of my dissatisfaction with the kind of treatment I am receiving here at Myngle. I have registered as a teacher last February and every time I have tried to get my free consultation, it has either been cancelled or the person in charge, Hala Masreya in this case, didn’t show up.
If you don’t need new teachers, please let us know and do not make us waste our time. I was meant to have my last appointed meeting 40 minutes ago and I am still waiting for someone who always seems to have a problem when the time of my consultation comes. This is the third or fourth time this happens.
You say in your “Waiting list for teachers” blog that the consultation is to ensure we, teachers, are serious and have teaching experience. I truly feel your staff is not being serious at all by keeping a person waiting for more than an hour without warning her about the impossibility of carrying out the meeting.
I find your proposal exciting and I think I can add value to your site and services. I’ve been told you are very committed to the service you provide, please prove this right.
I’m really upset and disappointed. I hope to be reached with an explanation soon.
Thank you
Marcela García

I am happy to inform you that I have been contacted by Hala Masreya, who was really helpful guiding me thoughout the Myngle System and Teaching tools. Therefore, I want you to know that the previous lack of contact was just a sad misunderstanding. Please, do not consider my previous complaint. Thank you
April 5th, 2009 at 8:31 pm
Dear Sir or Madam,
unfortunately I made the same experience as Ms Garcia.
Having signed on to the system in FEBR.2008 I am still
on the waiting list with no success to contact Ms Masreya.
I am changing currently position anyway from Thailand to
Cambodia, so too late for me to join the online teaching.
How long are you suppose to wait?

Dear teachers,
the waiting list is made on the best interest of both teachers and students, that is why it might happen that you are not consulted immediately as soon as you sign up.
If the waiting list is closed for one or more languages, you will not be contacted to schedule a consultation. We apologize for inconveniences caused to some teachers, we believe that a tighter selection will improve our services and the overall satisfaction of our costumers.
take care,
Elisa

I am experiencing exactly the same difficulties that Marcela and Karl have experienced. Hala has contacted me, asking when I am available and confirming my consultation date. Each time I sit in front of my computer waiting for her to contact me and she seems to always be unavailable. Again, today I received an email from her stating that today would be a good day for my consultation and that I should contact her on Skype. I have been waiting for 3 hours for her to log on. This is very frustrating. Myngle is a great idea and I would like to become part of it. But, there needs to be better communication between Myngle and prospective teachers. Don’t leave us hanging and waiting without communicating with us properly. This is the quickest way to loose good teachers and get a bad reputation.
Hoping that this gets solved quickly.

I made exactly the same experiences - I signed up weeks ago and my profile is still not active. Also, I really can`t see why they want your whole CV (personal data spy?!) to put you on this list - you have the student`s rating as a much better way to find out wheather somebody is qualified or not. Wheather somebody is able to explain something with patience and a good style can`t be told just from a CV.
Either the whole Myngle - thing is not very well thought, or this is just a way to collect personal data.
After all this hassle, I have deceided to close my account.
Good luck, guys!

I also have exactly very difficulty experiences-I signed up on march and my profile is still not active. Sometimes, when I uneasily contacted with Hala.myngle on Skype,She would sign in for me, but a few minutes later, She suddenly signed off,Or was told that she had a internet technical problems.I was waiting for her again and again! Just could not come through and complete that consultation.I feel upset and very disappointed.
Good luck!

Dear teachers,
we apologize for any inconvenience caused by the ‘rules’ of the waiting list. We receive hundreds of applications to be a teacher on Myngle and the waiting time to be approved is indeed quite long. At the same time, if the waiting list is closed for one or more languages, you will not be contacted to schedule a consultation, as we have quite a few teachers in line. We need to be selective considering the amount of applications received, as we would like to provide the best experience for all the active teachers we have on the platform.
Best regards,
Elisa Delaini

Dear Sir/Madam,
i have to say that i feel sorry i have to make that complain. After i registered and i sent my cv i am still waiting for my “Myngle Consultation Guide”. I had to reschedule it because of a dental surgery that i had on the same day. I informed miss Hala 2 days before our scheduled meeting and she just said that she would reschedule it some time but i had a mail from myngle saying that i didn’t attend our meeting. I have sent several mails both to myngle and to miss Hala but still i have no answer. I just want to know how long do i have to wait for reschedule our next meeting and also i wanted to let you know that i was ok and i had informed miss Hala. Also i can not contact miss Hala through skype and i have tried several times.
I am looking forward for your answer ,

Hallo
Hello
I am also very much disappointed.
Someone can say to me, like for a long time, i still in waiting list to remain must.
Everyone times, i try to get a pupil. get the message, that, i still in waiting list rule, and with a very rare language, which i want to teach, indeed PERSIAN.
If it enough teachers have, . the Persian to teach can, then answer says to me, so that, i mean time gild not here.

no use of CAPS in favor of email efficiency-
the string of complaints greatly shadows appreciative comments with regards to unprofessional time management conduct Mingle staff has shown toward prospective teachers, which unfortunately reflects poorly on the future of Mingle.
first, while elisa - i believe the education manager of mingle - maintains that mingle “…receive(s ) hundreds of applications to be a teacher on Myngle and the waiting time to be approved is indeed quite long….”, it does not explain why teachers WHO HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY MINGLE are left waiting upwards of 1 - 3 hours for a mingle rep to sign on ! Time should be respected with communication being gold. if Mingle is indeed overloaded for whatever reason, an email, or a phone call, is hardly much to ask in today’s age of rapidfire technology, especially if are to demand similar from students using the mingle site.
second, elisa mentions, “…if the waiting list is closed for one or more languages, you will not be contacted to schedule a consultation, as we have quite a few teachers in line….”. where is this waiting list that mentions subjects that are closed to new teachers? can we assume that, if mingle sends out an email POST APPLICATION requesting that a teacher send in a CV for further evaluation, the waiting list for that subject is still open? i filled in an application. decided to hold off on the CV until i worked out my paypal account situation. i have already received 2 emails from mingle urging me to send in my CV. i’m now looking through their site for info on which subjects are closed to new teachers and find no information, but unfortunately this string of comments/complaints…
while i believe there are twenty one and a third sides to every story, with several corners slashed to serve our own plot points, i wonder what truly is the mirth behind mingle ’scheduling consultation calls’ only to then not show….? this sort of mickey-mouse time management can spell the death of any enterprise.
as well, if there are any ‘pat on the back’ mingle stories, teachers, put them up here. threads aren’t productive if they are wholly biased towards rants. a small appreciative story, we, as a people, could use a lot more of…
i look forward to working with a progressive organization that shares my belief in respect for all - teachers, new applicants, students and strangers alike.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I signed up and I am still waiting for any response on your side. I received an email saying I would be contacted.
How long do you think it will take?
Thanks a lot!
August 16th, 2009 at 1:19 pm
I have been considering signing up for a while, but given all the above, I would like to request that you publish somewhere what you want/need and what you neither want nor need.
This would save yourselves having to deal with so many applications that you can do nothing with, and it would save potential teachers the frustration of remaining so long on your list without contact from yourselves.
August 17th, 2009 at 10:06 am
O just visit this blog…sorry to hear those complaints!!
I am with Potential teacher. Myngle should post how many teachers will they need for a particular language…

Dear Sirs
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the treatment I have received at Myngle. I registered as a teacher on november, 2008. After a lot of time, I finally had a consultation session, but my profile was never activated. I asked for an explanation, but I never received a reply. Finally, I was contacted because of my offer to help Thea. Hala sent me an email in order to activate my profile, but that email didn´t have any links to activate it, after requesting that link it was sent to me However, my profile was never activated. Hala told me that she couldn’t find my name. After some days, Myngle blocked my access to the site without any explanation. Everything seems very strange. I just pretended to help. Finally, I am not interested in the activation of my profile anymore.

I am disappointed in reading this long list of negative comment, as I am a teacher with experience and have just spent 3 hours in carefully completing my profile on your site. If you really do not have open positions it would be far more professional to state it clearly, like other sites similar to yours do.
October 7th, 2009 at 11:16 am
I don’t see what the problem is, with teachers requiring to wait until there are sufficient student numbers. It’s the same with any business. I find the site well organised — this structure is helpful to me as I develop my teaching offering. I look forward to a consultation in due course and wish the site well in its efforts to develop its student intake.
PS. If it’s that easy to create student demand, why use a website like this? (rhetorical question)
November 3rd, 2009 at 10:25 am
I registered as a student and as a teacher. As a student, I have already been able to take part in a trial lesson of Spanish (quite successful). As a teacher, I waited long for some contact concerning the consultation session, then wrote an e-mail asking for one and received a series of e-mails boiling down to “catch Hala on Skype”, which I did, was promised a consultation session, waited 3 days & nothing happened, so asked again, had a lesson scheduled, then rescheduled (on Hala’s request), then Ms Hala was late for the lesson, then appeared for a few seconds & said sorry, then disappeared again with no sorry. I’m confused as hell. Hope to be offered some explanation. Needless to say, not looking forward to booking the Spanish course (nor recommending the site either to students or to really good teachers).

Hi,
I am a little disappointed because I did my request as a teacher two months ago, and I don’t understand why I haven’t been contacting yet. I am a good teacher, and I have experienced, studies, dedication and responsibility. I think that never the list would be close, because the student is the boss, and he can pick up the better teacher for him. The close list just do that the teacher whose got into the web, and work there, be feel more confidence that must have. I dont know but the competence ever its good. Myngle could be a open site not close.
Regards.

Hi,
Well it’s all very well to complain and have to put up with a bad vetting process to recruit teachers, how about delegation hey?I think Myngle needs to delegate the vetting to regional recruitment managers who know more about teaching qualifications in their regions, and who would also receive a smaller number of applications per region rather than a world wide batch of cvs.Just a thought…

Hello,
After having read this long list of messages,I honestly feel disappointed too. I’ve signed up three months ago and I’m still waiting. I was so looking forward to teaching online that I prepared a whole bunch of power point presentation lessons and pdfs which are just useless to me right now.Of course I checked most of myngle’s ready to use courses and I found them to be very good.I also tried out a few of the other sites where you can teach online but compared to myngle, they were less organised and in the know of this business than myngle. Not to mention that one of them is purely unacceptable in terms of professionalism. My teaching experience with them was traumatic.Signing up to the site was as easy as pie and you could start teaching immediately. No credentials asked, no waiting list, no training! But while trying to teach in one of their virtual classrooms,a number of unknown users popped in and out of my classroom, messed with my PPTs and PDFs, moved them around and even made them disappear from my whiteboard! Some of the students had cameras, microphones and headphones while others had none but wanted to somehow learn what you were teaching by looking at their computer screens!!!Most of them were looking for free lessons.Others left their seats in the middle of a lesson to attend to a screaming child that everyone with headphones and mics could clearly hear in the background! But the most creepy part was that I could see the administrator of the site spying on me silently and messing with my slides!I felt humiliated and ridiculed!I’d rather go through a waiting list, submit my CV and have one of myngle’s trainers contact me to have a face to face discussion before I start teaching online anyday after that experience.Anyone who doesn’t have the guts to talk to the prospective teachers on their site face to face but resorts to other manipulative technics to deal with it, should never be responsible for an online teaching site. I know I’m venting my anger about another site right now, which is inaproppriate, but I have a faint hope that my experience will help some of the teachers here at myngle think twice before they condemn the waiting list. I don’t even know if Myngle is ever going to accept me or contact me but at least I feel less stressed because of the screening process which shows professionalism on their part.

Maybe it’s an idea to tell future teachers how long the waiting period is estimated. I’ ve been teaching privately Italian conversation for more than 2 years now, mostly to Dutch students and I would like to extend my working field, so I hope this waitinglist will not be too long!
Thanks for a reaction.

I have registered with Myngle and I don´t know how long I will need to wait.
When signing up the lack of interest in anything outside language qualifications seems a bit prejudiced perhaps. I have a background in IT and have been doing telephone teaching for nearly 3 years now. I am still dubious about the need for webcams in training. This eats bandwidth - not always a problem but telephone only is very effective in my opinion.
When I started this I thought it would be a disadvantage but the reality is that the student simply adjusts and in fact he has to speak more clearly.
Well I guess I will have to wait but I will give updates as and when.

February 28th, 2011 at 2:19 pm
Update - while waiting to get accepted I performed the test for my computer by clicking on the link in the Myngle page. The test failed for my network saying the my network might not be good enough for Myngle software…
That was with Telefonica 1Mb7sec service.
I then plugged in my second network - an OEM here in Spain. This is a 3Mb/sec service. The first time it scored 3.4Mbit, the second run got 2.4Mbit.
The same failure message was returned….
So this is invalid for 2 reasons and Myngle need to correct it.
1/ This kind of interactive software does not normally need anywhere near such high bandwidth.
2/ If Myngle are using such software they will dis-enfranchise themselves from the market as most people worldwide do not conveniently have access to such services.
So it does not make any sense.

Hola
Simone

Clearly this is a common problem. This site just lures people to come on here and register in the promise of lots of students. And then the teachers just wait and wait for approval and are unable to teach any students. Fortunately I am not dependent on MYNGLE I have several other efficient and helpful websites that I work for. I don’t have to wait around for you people to “approve” me. I am a highly experienced and qualified teacher with 30 years experience so I don’t need the ‘don’t call us we’ll call you approach”
A shame that you promise so much and supply so little!

Hola Hala,
Could you please let me know if you still need Spanish teachers for business, Amber said to me that if I have the training session with you this week, I will be able to have a huge exposure next week with a big group, I wouldn´t like to miss that opportunity.
Let me know when it suits you better to reschedule our training session.
I have read this long list and I hope it doesn´t take so long to start to work with you.
All the best,
