Soaad, our new Education Assistant on Myngle!
Hi all!
A lot of you already know it probably, but our education team acquired a new member to help our teachers who subscribe to Myngle to take the first steps. I would like to welcome Soaad officially and I am really glad of all the support she is giving us with the precision of her work! At the office in Amsterdam we call her and Hala our Arabic twins :-), a nickname that they seem to like and also shows the strong friendship bond they have with each other.
I let her introduce herself here!
“Salam.
Let me start by this confession, that my real problem is that I don’t speak a lot and most of the time cannot express my real feelings, and that is the main reason why I don’t participate a lot in the forum although I never close the page and keep refreshing it almost every 15 minutes. I will try to speak this time a lot
because I think I never talked about myself in the forum.
I am Egyptian and I really love this country. I always think that there is something special about it, maybe due to the ancient history and stories in every place in Egypt.
I studied English and Arabic Literature and linguistics. One of the things that really makes me happy is reading, especially reading literature and I love tragedies. I love George Elliot, Thomas Hardy, Virginia Woolf, Khairy Shalaby, Bahaa Taher (the latter are Egyptian writers). I studied in the university Hebrew but with no practice it is gone with the wind and I have started refreshing everything again these days.
I became a teacher by mere chance. I always rejected the idea of working as a school teacher. But later I have realized that I don’t have to be a school children teacher. I worked at first as a tour operator in a small travel agent in Cairo. It was interesting but it is a never ending stress and I worked at the same time as a translator which I enjoyed more than tourism.
Then I applied to a school (teaching Arabic for the non speakers) in Cairo where I worked for almost 2 years. I had no idea before about teaching for the non speakers and how I could do that. I was trained by great teachers (they are teachers here as well), Somaia and Hala ( Masreya), I do owe a lot to them. They are really excellent teachers with different styles and methods of teaching. Such experience has made me realize that we are sometimes ignorant of what we can do and would succeed at. Teaching makes me always open to a new world. The best thing about teaching is that I can have the chance to know about different people and different cultures and traditions.
Myngle is one of the events that really changed my life. In the school where I used to work, we received an email from Myngle introducing Myngle. I liked the idea and how they started to market themselves all over the world. Actually because I worked before in tourism marketing, I know that there must be an active team behind that email. I registered on the 3rd of November 2007 (so this month in my Myngle Birthday), but I never imagined that they will make that fast progress. The first person who contacted me was Egbert, I gave him a hard to time to help me to upload my first lesson but he kept encouraging me that it is not that difficult it is just at the beginning and later it will be so fast. He was right
and he kept asking me every now and then how it was going with me. Then he introduced me to Danilo then I got to know Tetyana. They do help me a lot and I do appreciate that.
Now, I got to know Elisa & Marina, I would like to thank them a lot for helping and encouraging me a lot. (I told you I cannot express my feeling very well, but you know how we all feel)
I have to admit that, Myngle became an important thing in my life and I keep talking about it most of the day. I do I wish that I can pay it forward. :-).”

I am very glad to have you on board of Myngle Soaad!
Whenever I talk with Elisa about new challenging or fun activities for education, she always refers to our dear Arabic Twins (guess who is the other one…). Whenever I pass Elisa some ideas foe education, before I know you are already full speed on them!
I’m sure all together we will make an even bigger success of Myngle!

Dear Suaad,
About two months ago I was groping at Myngle. I had no idea as to how I could wade my waters in this virtual classroom . For the hand you extended , I owe you a lot. If it had not been for your friendly assistance and patience, I could not have been where I am now in Myngle( from 50th rank to 6th rank in two months)
Incidentally, I heard that you were recently appointed as Academic Assistant Chief. YOU DESERVE THE POSITION and I am glad you are there.
Should you have a need for me , you know where I am . I am just a chat or phone call away. I will be there as long as I can.
All the best for you, my friend.
Mary
