Teachers-entrepreneurs finding online language students

Hello Teachers,

Do you know that you all are entrepreneurs? By registering in Myngle and getting ready with your courses, you opened your virtal “shop” where you sell your language teaching services. And of course you are looking for your customers, your students.

Some of you have never owned a shop before So here are some tips which we hope will help you in growing your Myngle business and finding more of your students. Many Myngle teachers already started implementing these and have visible results!

Spread your Myngle profile throughout the web. Your Myngle profile is like a “virtual shop”, your own business, so you can spread the word about your teaching services by circulating the URL of your profile. Your URL is found in the top of your browser window when you are in “My Profile” page (for example: http://www.myngle.com/user/profile/index/id/19). Visit different blogs, community forums, social networking sites (Facebook, MySpace, Meebo, etc.) and classifieds to make your “Myngle shop” visible to potential customers.
Invite your offline students: many teachers in Myngle invite their current offline students to learn online. Both students and teachers can enjoy the lessons from their home, without having to commute. You can also recommend Myngle to your students for finding other peer students to practice language with.
Contact Myngle students. Find them through the Students page in Myngle and contact them with a short and personalized message, suggesting which course they can book in your profile. Show why the student should choose you as a teacher (for example, common interests, or some interesting point you can relate to in their About Me section) or your course.
Make yourself visible – participate in the Community forum and the Myngle blog here.
Offer a free demo lesson so students can try a lesson with you before buying next lessons. Give an awesome trial lesson and your student will likely return for more paid lessons. If you do not have your courses uploaded for all language levels you will teach, add the Personal Consultation course to your profile.
Accept PayPal as your preferred payment method, as most students prefer a fast, easy and secure way to send payments.

In light of the recent discussions on the forum I wonder if you would have the same or any new suggestions for teachers.

I think it is fair to point out that your posting is about finding students. Your second example above relates to converting an off-line student to an on-line student and as such is not a good example of finding a new student. This would belong to the category of converting a student.
