Article; Online learning grows more popular

egbert34×45.jpgHi all,

I am back with some information about the online learning market. An article called ‘Online learning grows more popular’ from the Reformed Daily reveals some interesting facts. Actually, it is an article  exactly pointing out the reasons why we build Myngle. And we are almost ready :-)))

Subject of the article is the following: Improved technology has made online classes more attractive to more and more students. With the spread of broadband technology and improved online teaching tools, students and teachers are finding online classes to be a more fluid and rewarding experience. Well here you go!

The article furthermore refers to the fact that Skype, a free Internet-based phone service, for example has enhanced the teaching of foreign languages online. Guess which free Internet-based phone service we have integrated in our digital classrooms?

The article reveals some interesting findings of the 2007 Sloan Survey of Online Learning:

  • 1 in 5 higher education students is now taking at least one class online.
  • In the fall of 2006, 3,5 million students were taking online courses.
  • There is a 9.7 percent annual growth rate for online enrollments from 2005-06

And these figures are U.S. only!!

Another study released last week reveals that 47% of high school students are interested in taking courses online that aren’t offered at their schools. The study found that students enjoy taking online classes, but they want more face-to-face interaction with an online instructor. (Christian Science Monitor).

All interesting facts, one more reason to look forward to our launch.
