    Hi, Mynglers!

I´d like to introduce myself. My name is Ronaldo Dantas da Silva and I am Brazilian. A Dutch friend of mine told me about Myngle and I immediately felt the urge to “myngle”.

I have always been a language passionate. I started to learn English when I was twelve… and then German, and then Italian… and then… and then… well, as a matter of fact, I wanted to learn all possible languages… just for the fun of it! I even tried to study Hebrew and Arabic as well as some Brazilian Indian languages but in the long run I realized that I´d better leave that aside since it was such a huge task! So, actually, I have just a superficial knowledge of these other languages…

I have lived for four years in the Netherlands as a former student at the Polytechnics School of Translation & Interpreting in Maastricht. Dutch wasn´t that easy to learn but the German language helped me a lot! I returned to Brazil eight years ago and since then I have been working at a translation agency through internet. By the way, one of my hobbies is to translate literary work, something that requires inspiration and sufficient language skills but since it is just a hobby, I don´t do it on a regular basis.

At the moment I work at…. eh…. (guess!) a language school where I am the coordinator of the pedagogical department. It has been a great experience and I must say, my work has been a lot of fun.

Oh, yes, I do too have a life! I may be a ‘language nerd’ but I like going to the beach, to the movies or to a nice bar just to ‘babbelen’ (Dutch word for ‘have a chat’).

Well, that´s all for the moment!

    Um abraço,

    Ronaldo

P.S. By the way, have you already visited the site http://www.yourdictionary.com ? Just check it out, it´s amazing!

Thanks for the tip Jaap, it looks like a great website indeed!

Ola Ronaldo! Pleasure to meet you!! Wonderful to have another Brazilian here!

Indeed its an impressive language background that you have! I’ll try to keep an eye out for some of your books ;)

Its great to hear that besides translating you’re also involved in teaching and coordinating a school. We hope to see you on our beta release so both of us can work closer on expanding our worlds. If you have any questions until then be sure to drop us an email!
