This beginner course will introduce you to Classical Latin. Even absolute beginners with no prior knowledge of Latin will find it easy and enjoyable to follow this course. The focus will be mostly on understanding written Classical Latin, such as you can find in texts by Caesar, Ovid, Catullus, Pliny, Seneca and many other Roman authors. You will learn all important points of grammar, although grammar will not play as big of a role as it does in traditional textbooks. Upon completing this course, you will be able to understand simple prose retellings of the famous Graeco-Roman myths with the occasional help of a dictionary. Then you can go on to take my Latin 201 course, which will lead you up to a level where you can read original texts in Classical Latin. This course is brought to you by http://www.LearnLangs.com .
